Hi, my name is Katrina. I am the owner and dyer for Two Springs Fiber Arts. I live with my husband and my two children in the beautiful state of Washington. We live on a five acre property that has two natural springs flowing from the ground. We use this water to grow as much of our own food as we can and affectionately call our property the Two Springs Homestead. This was also the inspiration for my business name when I began dyeing yarn and fibers.
My fiber arts journey began when I was in junior high school and was completely mesmerized watching my grandmother crochet. She taught me to chain and do single crochet. My mother helped me learn more stitches and for many years I enjoyed making blankets or small projects using what I had learned. In my 20s I finally learned to read patterns and found crochet to be my favorite hobby.
In 2022 I went on a vacation to Pennsylvania. I didn’t know then that this vacation would change my life. In the heart of Amish Country I visited a lovely local yarn store. This was my first time hearing about and purchasing hand dyed yarn. I bought the lovely locally dyed yarn that day and I found the perfect pattern to crochet. It was like a dream. At the time, I only had acrylic yarns in my stash. Using natural fibers was a new and amazing experience. Everything I thought I knew about yarn had just changed. I started researching hand dyed yarn and as I learned about the process I knew I was born for this. I started dyeing yarn and found it to be even more enjoyable than I expected and quickly began the process of starting my own business. In 2023 I started learning to knit and fell in love with the beautiful textures and fabrics knitting can create. Then in 2025 I took my first spinning class and never knew what joy there is in spinning your own yarn! I am constantly inspired by the fiber arts community, natural fiber fine yarns, and of course the amazing designers in our fiber arts world. My favorite part of my job is seeing my art, my yarns and Liber I take so much care in dyeing, inspire others to create their own art. I cannot describe the joy it brings to walk into a local yarn store or knitting group and have someone say, “Look what I made with your yarn!” What an amazing fiber arts journey we get to go on together!
